Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Newtrition Android application (package name io.newtrition.app) and these pages on newtrition.io (together, the “Service”). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Newtrition is an on-device nutrition tracker. You can create a local profile, log meals against a bundled catalog, see calorie and macro estimates calculated on the phone, track water, weight, and steps you enter, and use a deterministic Assistant that reads today’s local totals and targets.

This version has no Newtrition account, no cloud sync, no subscription, no in-app purchases, and no shipped generative AI model.

2. Eligibility

You must be allowed to use the app under the laws of your country and under Google Play’s rules. The app is not directed at children under 13.

3. No account

There is nothing to register or log in to. Your diary lives on that device. Deleting app data or uninstalling the app does not delete a Newtrition “account”, because none exists. See How to delete your data.

4. Health disclaimer

Newtrition is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Calorie and macro numbers are estimates from your profile and a local food catalog. They can be incomplete or wrong. Do not use the app as the only basis for a medical, clinical, or dietary decision. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or take medication that affects nutrition, talk to a qualified professional.

5. Acceptable use

• Use the app for your own personal tracking, or for someone you are legally allowed to help.
• Do not reverse-engineer, disrupt, or misuse the Service in a way that harms others or violates law.
• Do not rely on the Assistant as a generative or clinical authority. It restates local calculations.

6. Intellectual property

The app, name, and branding are owned by the publisher or its licensors. Open-source components are listed in the in-app licenses screen. The bundled food catalog is provided only for use inside the app.

7. Privacy

How information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy. If these Terms and that policy conflict on a data-handling point, the Privacy Policy controls for that point.

8. Changes and availability

We may update the app or these Terms. The “Last updated” date shows the current Terms. We may stop offering the Service. Because data is local, you should export or copy anything you need to keep before you uninstall.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Newtrition is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on estimates in the app. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.
